Sensory Tools for Pets: Animals and People Helping Each Other
The book is comprised of stories and photos from therapists and parents.
The photo on the front cover is a boy who has autism and the family pet. The rottweiler would come and lay down so the boy could get his sensory needs met before having a meltdown.
The rottweiler seemed to be able to sense that the boy was getting ready to have a meltdown. Being on top of the family pet has a calming effect on the boy.
· Animal assisted therapy stories about animals helping children (including some with autism) and adults who have sensory processing issues.
